“ We finally made it here for a meal. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious and the waitress offered to bring us more bread, we needed it. We split the Tortilini Cordon Blue and a good thing, it was too much for one. It was delicious, would definitely recommend! Great little spot! My drink, a Moscow mule wasn't the best I've had, but my husband got the Basil bourbon, which was great, although he asked for Buffalo Trace bourbon and they told us they didn't have Buffalo Trace, when, indeed, we saw it on the shelf when leaving. Besides that, it was a great place to eat. ”

“ Outstanding. We could not have been more pleased with the atmosphere and cuisine! We came all the way from Fargo, ND to watch our daughter in a collegiate volleyball tournament in Lawrence. We pleasantly happened upon the Basil Leaf Cafe and loved our experience! The guests were very diverse in age and the food portions we received were abundant - we had to take half of our meals back to our hotel room. As for our waitress, Brooke, she was warm and engaging and wonderful with whom to talk. If and when we are back in Lawrence, we will purposefully seek out the Basil Leaf Cafe. Post Note: Brooke, the bartender made my "extra-dry martini straight up with olives" perfectly! ”
“ lovely spot! my tortellini alla vodka was fantastic and chloe was an excellent server. our food was taking a bit long, but she worked hard to keep us updated and it was very appreciated. they were able to immediately seat our party of six and i loved our view from the window. they also had a great selection of mocktails. oh and the caesar salad was fantastic, the dressing was so bright and delicious. ”

Our server, Tiffany, was absolutely amazing: warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. She really made the whole evening feel special as I was bringing my parents here for a visit. The food was just as impressive. The portion sizes were generous, and everything we tried was delicious. I have to especially highlight the meatballs they are a perfect appetizer with a glass of wine. Overall, Basil Leaf Cafe delivers a fantastic dining experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend if you're visiting Lawrence! ”
